Yesterday, after work I went over to Nate's house for a couple beers and a skate. He got a 14 foot flat box and a 8 foot flat bar. His driveway is so smooth and the beers stay cold. Don't think that its all good tho because when the flies come out they are RUTHLESS! Check out this photo of Nate I snapped off last night, I really like the colour of the sky and the lights in the garage!
Just a blog on some of the photos that I have taken. Mostly night shots or landscapes but also snowboarding, skateboarding, and other things. If you like, leave a comment. Need to contact me, dru720@gmail.com.

New Toy
After 2 weeks of debating, 1 week of committing, and a hell of alot of waiting, my new 5d mark ii finally shows up! Along with a battery grip and extra battery. I only have 2 lens for it tho, a 1.8 50mm and a 70 - 200mm f4. I will still keep my t1i for a back up body and for fisheye shots! Took this photo with my blackberry. I know it looks like crap but an iphone is next on the list! and yes, I am at sideways. Pop in!
Gros Morne
Had a day off and decided to spent the day up in Gros Morne national park driving around. They have a ton of hiking trails but after Brutal Beach I wasn't really feeling up to it!
- started off driving down this road!
- went up to Norris Point and seen this cool house.
- walked along a beach to this old beat up shack.
- went to the site of the ship wreck SS Ethie that ran aground.
- Hung out on a beach for a bit.
- Then seen this salt water donkey on the way home! Chased this guy around for a while before I got a shot of him!

Brutal Beach
So it all started off with an idea to take an old walking trail down to a beach and snap some shots of the mill and CB. We start our hike in Irish Town and with out sneakers and backpacks we venture down the old boardwalk and into the woods! After 20 min the boardwalk turns into marsh and bog, the trail no longer exists and we decide to bushwack the rest of the way to the beach. Bad idea! It starts to get dark and we are running out of energy but we think that we are close and push onward. I take over leading the pack and not long after that I find a little quad trail that ran the whole way with us just 20 feet to our left. We get on the quad trail swearing and cursing, covered in mud, ripped up legs and arms and destroyed from the flies we keep going towards the beach. 5 minutes pass and we can finally see the beach through the brush and we bump into an old man on the trail, who is driving a legit personal tank from vietnam used to bring supplies into the jungle. We explain to the man that we want to take some photos from the beach but he quickly replies that its high tide and were not going to be able to get to the beach. Then proceeds to tell us that he has a trike in the trail aways and we can drive it out for him. This is music to our ears. We say thank you and keep hiking to the beach. The last bit of the trail was all mud and stinger needles, and when we finally get to the water we realize that the man was right. We couldn't get to the beach because it was completely surrounded by water. We still snap a few shots off but I never got what I wanted.
- the beach in this photo was the one I wanted to be on.
We turn around and head for the trike, back tracking through the mud and stinger needles. With our shoes ruined, clothes covered in mud, arms and legs ripped to pieces and covered in bug bites we get to the little honda 125cc trike and first pull she goes!! With 3 of us sitting on the little trike with no exhaust bombing out this mini trail it takes about 20 min to get back to Irish Town. Trikes are tippy!!
Here are some of jodies photos from the adventure!
- just disappointed
- our ride out!
- jode and nate had to walk the rough parts of the trail

Puffins eh??
So a few weeks ago my buddy Scott Grant (Ronin Photography) invited me to go shoot puffins with him and since I've never seen a puffin before I was excited and eager to go. We roll up to our location and I was amazed at the site of the birds. Puffins are WAY smaller than I thought and fly like hell, those things are soo fast. After 4 days of hanging out with the puffins I managed to get a few photos that I really like. Here are 2 of them!
- From like 7 feet away!
- In this shot I was using Scotts 500mm lens, its bananas!
Big thanks to Scott for taking me out here. If you want to see His work check out his site here.

Lobster Cove Lighthouse
35mm
Last year my aunt gave me 4 old film cameras, 3 of them being 35mm and the other a medium format Kodak. I have shot 5 rolls of film with my Nikon F1 and even went through the developing and print stages with a black and white roll. Here are 2 shots from a colour roll I shot a few months ago. Its bananas!
- Sunset over a little pond in lady slipper road, good fishing there too!
- Chris Lake killing it, these things are so aggressive and super hard to skate. Fun tho!

Had to do it.
So, had to start a photo blog. Been out shooting alot lately and ended up with a couple shots that I really liked. Here is a few of them!
- This is the Indian Lake. Its been at this dock forever and is not usually in the water any more. She spends most of her time on the dry dock being repaired.
- This is right by my house, an old man hole drain was ripped up and tossed by the bay. There are tons of these guys kicking around!
- Going on a fishing trip and my buddies cruse past me in this monster on the TCH. Its a 1929 Benz and its one of several old cars that Willy owns!
*there are more photos on my flickr page to, feel free to check them out! http://www.flickr.com/photos/drukennedy/
